Design and validate local SEO sites with Claude Code
Use Claude Code and MCP tools to research markets, validate keywords, and design local SEO sites that can realistically attract traffic
Problem
Many local websites are built without real market validation.
Common issues include:
- Picking locations or services with no search demand
- Designing sites before understanding keyword difficulty
- Doing market research manually across multiple tools
- Guessing what content will rank instead of validating it first
This leads to sites that look fine but never attract traffic.
Inputs
- Target industry or service
- Geographic focus (city, region, service area)
- Search engine results data
- Competitor websites and content
- Keyword and intent signals gathered from public sources
Claude’s role
Planner
The pattern
- Define the target market and geographic scope
- Use MCP tools (e.g., Perplexity, FireCrawl) to gather search and competitor data
- Analyse keyword demand, intent, and competitive strength
- Identify viable local opportunities where ranking is realistic
- Translate research into a site structure and content plan
- Design pages that align with validated search demand and traffic potential
The focus is on validation before design.
Output
A validated local SEO site plan that includes:
- Target locations and services backed by real demand
- Keyword-supported page structure and hierarchy
- Content priorities based on real search intent
- Reduced risk of building sites that don’t attract organic traffic
When this works / when it fails
Works well when:
- Local search demand exists and is measurable
- Competitor landscapes are not overly saturated
- Research precedes design and publishing
- The goal is long-term organic traffic rather than quick wins
Breaks down when:
- Markets are extremely competitive with little differentiation
- Search intent is unclear or highly fragmented
- Expectations rely on immediate ranking results
- Validation steps are skipped in favour of speed
